See what happens when the sirens of Comcast lure you in? Come to DirecTV and all will be forgiven.
but they sure take your money, too, right?! Unreasonable amounts of money. right?! man oh man.... i'm in need of vengeance. or money.
well, that's probably just for one year, or something like that, and then you get switched to another price. Otherwise, my problems have to do with, yes, the we don't give a shit-opoly of it all. I can't even elaborate anymore. I'll get too wound up.
p.s. bill, is direcTV that much better?
DirecTV is AWESOME! I cut the cord in 1999 and never looked back. A DVR is a must, which DTV also has (or you could go with TIVO which has a better look/feel). There are a number of folks who will do the install for you (CJR Satellite helped me out and did a great job). Once it's up, you won't have to worry about a thing. Their customer service rocks and will take care of you. BellSouth can do DSL, which is much better than cable. They will also give you price breaks on the phone bill with their internet and DTV.
Regardless of what they say, Comcast is still a cable company. They have a horrendous track record when it comes to customer service. Oh, and then there's the sleeping tech...
oh god! I hate Bellsouth JUST as much as comcast. over the years i have had near heart attacks and half-plotted murders b/c of that company.
Didn't realize directv was affiliated. Plus we kicked them to the curb, hopefully to never return, a while back and now have no home phone, just VOIP with Sunrocket. Which i love. With the high speed stuff, they've got us all by the balls. I don't have balls. But they've got me by them.

No problem about BellSouth. You can opt for DSL from Earthlink or any number of providers.
The difference between BellSouth and Comcast is that the telco is hemorrhaging money. So, you can push them around like that kid in the second grade. ("Gimme your lunch money and maybe I'll be your friend.")
