On July 1, 2003, Southern Hope Humane Society was awarded the contract to run Fulton County Animal Services, which provides animal care and control for Fulton County, the City of Atlanta and 8 other municipalities. There are hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption on the Fulton County Animal Services website.
I just wrote a check.
It wasn't big.
Like those giant sweepstakes ones, just the regular size.
And not for a lot of money.
But it's something.

I bet there are a lot of rescued Katrina animals named Katrina. I think they think that's poorly thought-through.

PawsAtlanta, the no-kill shelter where we adopted our last two kitties, has a Katrina puppy whose folks had to give her up. due to her injuries she had to have one leg amputated but other than that is perfectly healthy. Skip keeps saying he's sure she's already been adopted, but I keep hoping that when the house is done we might be able to think about maybe bringing her home.
Does SHHS need bedding for animals? We have lots of sheets, towels, pillows that we don't want to throw away but don't feel is really appropriate to donate for human use. We'd love to know that rescued critters are getting comfy on it.

I made 2 commercial spots for SHHS last summer. I was going to charge full price, Fuck Em Says I . The they took me on a tour of the facility.
Needless to say they got the spots for less than the going rate.
