I exspecs this will be pretty brilliant.

actually with copy that well written - why not just use their words?!
based on my toll experience - which involves going across the newburgh/beacon bridge a few times a week . . . may i recommend this as your interaction:
Dale: Can I get a receipt?
Toll: Throws tiny piece of paper in 'Dale's' direction (as she grunts).
has a real north eastern flavor to it - doesn't it?!
