Another Re-Post! Matt Horgan Steps in to the Monologizer Pantsuit

And zips up tight.

He's the monologizer so nice, we had him thrice!
Matt is a long-time Improv Ensemble member and actor at Dad's Garage Theatre, and has actually been on the improvising side of The Doug Dank Project a couple times.
Aaaand he is the significant other of the wonderful Stacy Melich, ACTOR!
So this is gonna be fun.
Maybe YOU'RE the ones who should zip up that pantsuit tight!

Push Push Theatre.
TONIGHT, WDENSDAY!
10pm
45 minutes long, no intermission

Got your zippers in your fingers?
....ONLY $5!!

Be there.
(she points to the audience, fingers like a fake gun, then smoothly transitions to a thumbs up, with a wink. She turns to leave)

(She forgot something, stops mid-step)
Oh, and tune in to Simpson and Snatch: Houseboat Party on www.switchworks.tv why don't you. I think you'll like it.

(We think she will wink again, but she doesn't. She turns to walk away, and murmurs over her shoulder)

Never Say Goodbye

1) Merv Griffin died. I said, "awwwww."

2) Never Say Goodbye was my prom theme song.

Here are some pictures from the reunion last weekend.

Feel free to take a look around the rest of the flickr.

The photo to the left doesn't have anything to do with either, except that it showed up on an image search for merv griffin. and the hands are nearly inexplicable. they're holding on to, what, a kerchief of some sort?

He Said, She Cooked

Because of uppity, mouthy gals like this one to the right, the Baptists felt a need for a little discipline, and a few corraling fences.

Baptist seminary launching homemaking program

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary offers coursework in Greek and Hebrew, in archaeology, in the philosophy of religion and – starting this fall – in how to cook and sew.

Southwestern Baptist, one of the nation's largest Southern Baptist seminaries, is introducing a new academic program in homemaking as part of an effort to establish what its president calls biblical family and gender roles.

It will offer a bachelor of arts in humanities degree with a 23-hour concentration in homemaking. The program is only open to women.

Guess who i'm going to see tonight

Friday, August 10, 2007

Merlin Olsen, Jerry Reed, Joe Don Baker, Dan Haggerty and Billy Gibbons

all referenced in one damn episode. Ways in which they never dreamed they'd be referenced.

Believe it or not, this is the "companion piece" to the OB/GYN episode the day before this one aired, Wednesday August 1st. Tbilisi, Georgia....

www.switchworks.tv for previous episodes.

We're in Business

via Clunky, via boingboing

Clunky is exactly right when he says this is awesome for so many reasons.
I thought tonight for about 5 full minutes about the choosing of the line "I know you do."

#5 in the imdb credits, G

That'd be Mike Schatz!
That'd be the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Movie credits.
And this'd be a complete copy of the post i did in March.

He's also been in, obviously, the ATHF tv show for years, as well as Frisky Dingo.
He even has a wikipedia page.
Mike and I did a TLC/Trading Spaces ad one time, and i think nearly got fired because we laughed so much during the whole shoot. God, he just makes me laugh. So laid back, but so so funny.
Here's his profile from the ad agency where he works, Blue Sky:

Mike

Hometown:

Fairfax, VA

What needs changing around Blue Sky:

An underground tunnel from his house to the office

Most embarrassing moment:

Ambulance ride from corporate softball game

Favorite snack:

Chocolate milk laced with Ambien

I remember seeing Mike onstage with Laughing Matters improv group like 10 years ago.
It was a show that started my own journey towards performing.
Not really in the "wow, they have really inspired me" kind of way, but more in the "wow, i could do better than THAT" kind of way.
I'M KIDDING.
They were hilarious. Mike Schatz, Mark Harris, Tommy Futch, Gary Anthony Williams, and Brian Sack. At the Pepper Pot. I won an Easy Bake Oven.
Anyway.

Mike will be the monologist this Wednesday at The Doug Dank Project at Push Push in Decatur.
Come out and hear him talk about stuff! And please, help spread the word.
$5
10pm

P.S.

The reunion was actually pretty fun.

Pictures to come.

Bertrand Russell

One should respect public opinion insofar as is necessary to avoid starvation and keep out of prison, but anything that goes beyond this is voluntary submission to an unnecessary tyranny.

I wonder what my Savannah Christian high school reunion alum friends this weekend would have thought if I'd given this to them as the answer to their question, "why don't you guys get married?!"

I didn't have this on the tip of my tongue, though.
What i wanted to say was "Religion and government tell me i should do it, so that makes me not do it."

What i tell them for brevity and ease is "Ehhh, we'll see! ....yes, another miller lite."

Flixter

Holy shit! Flixter is EVERYWHERE! It's sweeping my inbox like a terrible epidemic, that doesn't kill you, and seems like it'd be fun once you have the time to look through it for a damn minute.
